Our Funeral Insurance helps you prepare for the future so you can get on enjoying the present. That's why An Post Insurance has teamed up with ARAG - a leading provider of legal insurance and assistance products in Ireland - to give our Funeral Insurance customers access to a Complimentary Online Will Writing Service**. You'll be able to access pre-prepared templates to help you reflect your wishes, whether you're an individual, a married couple, in a civil partnership, or a cohabiting couple.
**Please note, this Complimentary Will Service is not suitable for everyone, and you may require additional third party or legal assistance. If you require a more comprehensive legal document, ARAG can cater for this request too, by providing access to their extensive network of legal experts who will, at a discounted rate, assist you in building a will tailored to your specific need.
Do you have a will?
An estimated 70%* of the Irish population do not have a will. If you are one of these people, it’s worth remembering that, if you pass away without having a will in place, your money, property and possessions will be shared out according to the law of intestacy instead of how you may wish. This can mean your estate passing to someone unintended – or could mean someone you love receiving nothing.

We can help you write your will
Everyone who purchases a Funeral Insurance policy from An Post Insurance will get access to a website where you can view and access pre-prepared Will Templates. All you need to do is choose the template that best reflects your needs and complete it with your details **. Once complete, you can download the will created for you to check that your details are correct. If you are happy that the will reflects your wishes, you then need to sign it and this signing must be independently witnessed by two witnesses to authenticate it.
The templates are designed to cater for those who do not have a will in place.
How to access your complimentary will writing templates:
Click on the Get Started button below. This will bring you to the Legal Documents login page.
Under the section Don’t have an account yet? Enter your An Post Insurance access code which was provided to you with your Funeral Insurance policy documentation.
Create your own account using your email address and a safe password.
Once verified, log in using your email address & password to access the service.
There are four Will Templates available to you (see below); choose the Will Template that best reflects your personal circumstances and follow the onscreen instructions to complete it.
You will then get an email confirming your account has been set up and asking you to verify your email address.
Choose Wills from the drop-down menu under Explore Documents.
Remember, once happy that the will reflects your wishes, you then need to sign it and have this signing independently witnessed by two witnesses to authenticate it.
