How do I make a claim under my An Post Insurance Home Insurance policy?

Simply call the claims team with your Home Insurance policy number and our underwriter's experienced claims team will help you register the claim and provide you with advice you can trust and care you can rely on.

FAQs

It is a requirement to have supporting documentation relating to the claim. For example:

  • original purchase receipts, 
  • instruction manuals,
  • guarantees;
  • replacement estimates.

Any cost incurred in obtaining estimates is not covered under the policy.

If your Home Insurance Policy is with Aviva and you need to make a claim simply call the claims team on 1800 14 71 47.

If your Home Insurance Policy is with Allianz and you need to make a claim simply call the claims team on 01 6133990.

If you experience an emergency at home such as a burst pipe, boiler failure, or electrical fault, call the Home Emergency Assistance number for your insurer.

For Aviva policies, call 091 545 909.

For Allianz policies, call 01 613 3990.

A qualified tradesperson will be sent to secure your home and prevent further damage.

Cover is available for up to €260 (plus VAT) per incident (Aviva) or up to €300 (including VAT) per incident (Allianz), with no excess payable.

This cover is underwritten by MAPFRE ASISTENCIA Compania Internacional De Seguros Y Reaseguros, S.A., trading as MAWDY.

If your keys are stolen during a break-in at your home or an assault on a member of your household, call the Property Claims service to register your claim. Have your Home Insurance policy number to hand.

If your keys are lost and your property is insecure, call the Home Emergency Assistance helpline:  

Your policy covers the cost of replacing your door locks to secure your home. Cover is available for up to €1,200 (Aviva) or up to your contents sum insured (Allianz). 

Yes, if your rental property becomes uninhabitable due to a covered event (such as fire or flood) and your tenants need to move out, your landlord's policy includes Alternative Accommodation Cover, which covers the cost of rehousing tenants, including loss of rent. Cover is typically up to 15% of the insured building value, subject to your underwriter's approval. To make a claim, contact your insurer's claims team directly:
