What is Landlord's Contents Insurance?

Landlord's contents insurance protects the items you provide in a rented apartment such as furniture, appliances, and household goods where the building is already insured separately (for example, through a management company). If you are renting out a house, you will need Landlord's Insurance which covers both the building and its contents. Your policy includes alternative accommodation cover, which pays up to 15% of your contents sum insured and covers loss of rent if the property becomes uninhabitable due to an insured event. An Post Insurance searches across our panel of well-known insurers in the Irish market and presents you with the most competitive price.

We value your feedback

The staff that looked after my renewal were all excellent. I was changing my car a few days before renewal and they took care of everything. They helped me with my payment (I was stressed at the time) and were so patient. Overall, very happy with the service. Janette 1st - Mar - 2026
