Professional Insurance is suitable for the likes of IT Consultants and Quantity Surveyors as well as small businesses with no more than 8 employees and an annual turnover of €750,000 or less.
Our Cover
Office and surgery insurance will cover:
Your assets - Including buildings, office or surgery contents and business machinery.
Your earnings
Business Interruption Cover up to €300,000 in any one period of insurance (Indemnity period will be shown in your schedule).
Disease, Infestation, Murder or Defective Sanitation (up to €25,000).
- Loss of Money At the premises during business hours, in transit & in Bank Night Safe €10,000
- At the premises out of business hours €7,500 in safe and €500 out of safe
- Business owner or authorised employee residence €500
Your legal liabilities - Covering your liability to employees, customers, or the general public. Up to €3 million in public liability claims, excluding professional negligence (with the option to increase to €6.5 million*).
Up to €13 million in employer liability* claims (if you have chosen this cover).
*Optional add-ons are subject to an additional charge; it is not necessary to purchase these add-ons in order to purchase the policy.
Excess is the amount you, as the policyholder, must pay as the first part of each claim made.
Most sections of your insurance have an excess which varies. In the case of standard excess, you will pay the first €300 yourself. The excess for each event insured is outlined in your Policy Schedule or Policy Document.
Shop insurance will cover:
Your assets - Including buildings, stock, trade contents, machinery.

Your product
Goods in transit - The most we will pay for any one vehicle is the amount shown in your schedule in total for any one loss.
Public Liability Cover as standard at €3 million (with the option to increase to €6.5 million*). Excess of €500 for third party property damage. Employers Liability* cover of €13 million (if you have chosen this cover).

Shop insurance will also cover you for fire, storm, escape of water, malicious damage and theft, accidental loss or damage - together with flood and subsidence where insured (subject to terms & conditions). Speak with our team to find out more about this cover.
Yes, the cost of fire brigade attendance fees charged by any local authority attending to a fire that results in a claim under your policy are covered up to a maximum of €25,000.
Unless otherwise specified in the schedules, wines, spirits and tobacco cigarettes are covered up to €1,000.
Yes, Loss of or damage to Lottery Equipment for which you are responsible is covered provided it has been included in the Sum Insured Figure on your policy.
The sum insured in respect of stock is increased in each period of insurance by
1. 30% during the months of November and December
2. 30% for 14 days before and 14 days after a bank holiday if it does not fall within the period in 1 above.
We will pay you for or at our option make good any accidental or malicious breakage or scratching of all internal or external fixed glass including showcases, shelves, tops and mirrors and sanitaryware belonging to you or for which you are responsible at your premises during the period of insurance. Provided that the glass is in good condition at the start of your policy. Following breakage of fixed glass we will also pay for the cost of
1. boarding up. You may instruct builders or glaziers to board up without our prior consent.
2. repairing damage to window frames, framework, shutters and blinds.
3. removing or replacing the fixtures and fittings necessarily incurred to replace the glass.
4. repair of damage to the shop front for which you are responsible caused by accidental external means or malicious people.
5. damage to goods incidental to the business caused by breakage of fixed glass in display windows.
6. replacing lettering, alarm foil or other ornamental work on glass up to a maximum of €750 for any one loss.
Excess of €250 applies
Yes – you will be covered up to €2,500 in any one period of insurance for the replacement of equivalent locks at your Shop/Office/Surgery. It is important to note that unless you or an Employee lives on the premises, keys to any safe or strong room must not be left at the Shop/ Office/Surgery when closed for business.
- Money in a safe outside of business hours covered up to €7500.
- Money in transit within Republic or Ireland or Northern Ireland or in bank safe to a max limit of €10,000.
- Money in your residence or the residence of an authorised employee up to €500.
- Money from gaming machine or vending up to a limit of €500.
- Money from shop/office/surgery during business hours up to a max limit of €10k in any one loss.
Accidental loss of or damage to signs (other than neon signs) is covered up to a maximum amount of €1,000 in any one Period of Insurance.
Accidental loss or damage to Neon signs is covered up to a maximum of €2,500 in any one period of insurance.
Excess of €300 applies.
Loss or damage to frozen or chilled stock in any freezer, cabinet deep freezer, cold room, cold store or chilled cabinet are available up to the limit shown in your schedule in any one loss. Subject to certain exclusions and increased cover available at an additional premium*.
Where the frozen food, cabinet deep freezer, cold room, cold store or chilled cabinet is over 10 years old you will be responsible for 20% of the loss.
Excess of €300 applies and €250 for internal glass.

Damage or loss to plans, deeds, briefs, manuscripts, books, documents and office records covered by any of the insured perils are covered. The most we will pay is 20% of the item sum insured shown in your schedule in any one period of insurance. The same applies for computer disks and tapes. These items must remain within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Excess of €300 applies.
Tradesmen Insurance is available for any trades with an annual turnover under €1.25m and a work force of 10 or less people.

Personal Accident Cover
- Benefit A
- Death
- Loss of sight
- Loss of limb
- Permanent total disability
- We will not pay benefits for more than one of the benefits shown. Benefit A will only be payable if bodily injury arises out of the insured person’s occupation in the course of the business.
- Benefit B Temporary total disability Benefit will be paid for a maximum of 104 weeks from the date of disability excluding the first 14 days of disability. Payments under Benefit B will stop as soon as Benefit A becomes payable or the insured person is able to work (whether full-time or part-time). Any payment made for Benefit B will be deducted from the payment made for Benefit A
Own Plant Tool and Equipment Cover
- Covers the insureds own constructional plant, machinery, trailer, tools, equipment, site huts or caravans (including their contents) belonging to you for use in connection with the business while on or next to the site of any contract carried out by you in transit by road rail or inland waterway or elsewhere within the policy territories.
- Own Insurers stock covered up to €2,500 while on their own premises or in a securely locked compound/store or in transit.
- Personal portable tools and equipment including portable electronic equipment up to €500 any one item – belonging to the Insured.
- Indemnity limits - choose from €2,500, €12,500 and €25,000.

You will be covered on the following:
Public Liability
- Standard cover at €1.3 million with options to increase to €2.6 million or €6.5 million*.
- Cover for Temporary Staff up to 50 days in total per year.
*Optional add-ons are subject to an additional charge; it is not necessary to purchase these add-ons in order to purchase the policy.
Personal Accident
- Applies to each of the persons described in your schedule who is under 75 years of age.
Occupational accidents.
- Death, loss of sight, loss of limb, permanent total disability following occupational accidents up to €2,000.
Court attendance fees (in connection with a claim only)
- For Owners, Partners and Directors €250 per day.
- Employees €150 per day.
Optional add-ons are subject to an additional charge; it is not necessary to purchase these add-ons in order to purchase the policy.
Personal Accident Upgrade
Benefit will be paid for a maximum of 104 weeks from the date of disability excluding the first 14 days of disability.
Weekly benefits of either €300, €400 or €500 for a maximum of 104 weeks.
Employers Liability
Indemnity cover of up to €13m.
Business Equipment
Cover applies to office and business equipment, including portable electronic equipment, belonging to, or borrowed or leased by you, or your partners, principals, directors or employees, used in connection with the business, referred to in your schedule as ‘Business Equipment’, anywhere within the policy territories or temporarily, elsewhere in the world.
Professional Indemnity
Civil liability cover We will pay the amount of damages and claimants cost and expenses, if a claim is made as a result of civil liability in connection with the professional business activity, provided the claim is first made against you during the period of insurance and we are notified during the same period of insurance or within seven days after expiry.
Defence costs cover We will pay defence costs but we will not cover costs and expenses for any part of a claim not covered by this section.
