Seems like every year there’s a trendy new holiday destination, but where are the consistently wonderful destinations that never fail to deliver?

Depending on each individuals taste, whether you are looking for a family holiday to cater for the kids as well as the adults or simply a relaxing sun holiday for the beach lovers, there are destinations to suit all ages and requirements.  We have compiled a list of our top destinations that consistently delight. The adventure begins

Krakow - Poland

One of the top of our list for city breaks is Krakow in Poland.  Renowned for its’ beautiful scenery and rich culture, not to mention the pretzels, Krakow remains to be one of the top choices for travellers today.

When it comes to safety Krakow is generally considered a safe city for travellers; however tourists are encouraged to be careful of pick pockets while out and about taking in the breath taking culture the city has to offer


With a variety of affordable accommodation from hostels to apartments to hotels there’s an abundance of choice out there to suit everyone.  Hostels can be found starting from as little as €10 per night.  A double room in a hotel can be found from €88 per room per night.  An apartment studio for 2 cost €97 for one night.

Food and Drink Prices

  • The price of food in Krakow is varied and all tastes catered for. 
  • A meal at an inexpensive restaurant costs around  4.70 per person.
  • A three course meal at a mid-range restaurant can be around €12-€14
  • Krakow is famous for it’s zapiekanki, which is a mini baguette that acts as a pizza by being topped with cheese, meat and vegetables, costing between €1.50-€2.00. 

Cultural Attractions

Wawel Castle:  An impressively beautiful Polish Castle located on a hill and surrounded by a majestic yard. 

Wawel Hill Mysterious Place of Chakra: Wawel Hill is thought to have a strong spiritual energy.  Many people visit to touch the wall of the Shrine to feel the energy from it.

Schindlers List:  The famous Stephen Spielberg’s movie Schindlers List was shot in Kazimierz in Krakow which is known as the Jewish District

The Main Market Square Sculpture:  the Sculpture on the main Market Square is that of Eros Bendato – Head of Love God.  The sculpture includes a band on his eyes which represents the fact that ‘Love Is Blind’.

Venice - Italy

Venice, the romantic capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.

There are several popular beach resorts within easy reach of the city, with many separated into private areas owned or rented by hotels.

It’s very important to note that it is illegal to swim in the Canals of Venice and can earn you a hefty fine if not adhered to.

Similar to other popular holiday destinations Venice can fall fowl to the odd pickpocket, so it’s advisable to keep an eye on your belongings, especially in heavily congested areas.

  • As we would all expect lots of pasta and pizza available in Venice, however the locals eat dishes more heavily relying on fish and vegetables, given the lagoon location.

  • A 3 course meal for 2 people in a Mid-range Restaurant costing approximately €50.

Cultural Attractions

St Mark’s Basilica is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice, northern Italy (knick named the Church of Gold in the 11th Century). It is the most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Italian Byzantine architecture architecture.  A 30 minute tour costs just €15.

Ca’ d’Oro - The Golden house of Venice is situated along the Canale Grande.  The gothic style exterior of the building was once covered with gold leaf and this is where the name came from.  Inside the house there are numerous sculptures, tapestries, crafts and paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries. The most important paintings are the “Annunciation” and the “Death of the Virgin Mary” – two works by Vittorio Carpaccio.

Santorini - Greece

One of the many popular islands of Greece is Santorini, especially attracting honeymooners, couples, and celebrities. Santorini’s beaches are mostly covered in black pebbles, white or black thick sand and they are well organized with lots of amenities and things to do.

Similar to Greece as a whole, Santorini is considered a safe place to visit as a tourist with a low crime rate.

Cultural Attractions

Formed by the massive volcanic explosion that blew the center out of the island some 3,600 years ago, the caldera is the sea-filled volcanic crater that remained.

Museum of Prehistoric Thera is located in Fira. It was built on the site of the old Ypapanti Church which was destroyed in the 1956 Amorgos earthquake.

Lanzarote - Canary Islands

Lanzarote is one of the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa administered by Spain.  Lanzarote is most known for its year-round warm weather, beaches and volcanic landscape.

Lanzarote is a safe destination with just the normal precautions against pick pockets advised.

Of course with all sunny destinations ensure you are reapplying the sun screen every 1.5 hours even if it’s cloudy.


Accommodation in Lanzarote is very reasonable, starting at €66 per night for a double room in a hotel with a one bed apartment for 2 people starter at €55.  A 4 bed villa with it’s own pool costs around  €308 per night.

Food and Drink Prices

  • Lanzarote can cater for all which means your holiday can be as cheap or as expensive as your budget allows.
  • A meal in an inexpensive restaurant can start from €12.
  • A three Course meal in a mid range restaurant for 2 people can be picked up for as little as €35.
  • 1 pint of domestic draft beer costing only €2.
  • If you wish to try a local dish you could try Papas Arrugadas – otherwise known as Canarian Potatoes,which are boiled in very salt water in their skins
  • A dessert to try could be Bienmessabe, which is a deliciously sweet. It’s made with ground almonds, honey and egg yolks. It can come as a sponge cake soaked in it, or used as a sauce over ice cream.

Cultural Attractions

Timanfaya National Park is one of the most popular Lanzarote attractions.  A unique location with lava fields, cones and salt marshes not unlike the surface of the moon. 3 to 4 hour walking tours can be booked for just €8 - well worth a visit.

Rancho Texas Park is located in Puerto del Carmen.  The Rancho Texas Park is a Texan themed animal and water park, perfect for adults and children alike.  The park houses impressive animals such as the rare white tigers and Komodo dragons.

Dubai - United Arab Emirates

Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, impressive architecture and a lively nightlife scene.

Dubai is one of the safest Middle Eastern countries for tourists.  They have very strict laws which means tourist can feel safe on their travels.

People should be aware of the cultural expectations i.e. public displays of affection are not well tolerated in Dubai.  Holding hands is fine for married couples, but kissing or hugging in public are not acceptable. 


Depending on your budget and preference for type of accommodation you would like to stay in, a cheap room or bed in a hostel can be purchased for as little as €26.  However, for a nice hotel with pools etc as little as €62 per night would get a lovely double room.  Obviously there are more expensive tastes catered for with a 5 star hotel starting at approximately €113 per night.

Local dishes include

Stuffed camel dish is a traditional Emirati delicacy and is usually served at weddings and special occasions.  However, visitors can still get their taste of camel meat if they so wish.  There’s even camel burgers available in some restaurants.

Al Harees is similar to our porridge dish.  It’s a combination of wheat, meat and a pinch of salt prepared to a porridge like consistency.  Mostly served at special occasions such as Ramadan, Eid and even wedding celebrations, it can also be found in some local restaurants.

Cultural Attractions

The Dubai Aquarium houses 140 species of sea life in the huge suspended tank on the ground floor of the Dubai Mall. Different activities are available to help you get a closer look at the sea life. Glass bottom boat tours (on top of the tank) are particularly popular. Cage snorkeling and shark diving activities are also on offer.

IMG Worlds of Adventure is a theme park near Global Village that has something for every size of kid, even the big kids.  It includes a zone devoted to Marvel’s characters, and one for the smaller kids with gentler rides and activities for them to enjoy.  A perfect destination for families looking for a fun filled day out.
